Good oral hygiene begins with a quality toothbrush and the knowledge and skill to us it. Be sure to use a soft brush, because a medium or hard brush can damage your mouth and gums as well as your tooth enamel. Hold the brush at a 45 degree angle to the teeth, and push the bristles of the brush slightly under your gums, and concentrate on brushing all surfaces of the tooth. Brush with a gentle touch for about three minutes. Here's a good way to time yourself: Turn on the radio, start brushing when a song begins, and don't stop until the song is over.
Almost any toothpaste is fine; just make sure it has the ADA Seal of Acceptance on the package.
