Our Mission Statement

Education

We believe an informed patient makes intelligent decisions.  We will share with you the information you need to make these important decisions.

Our doctors and staff are dedicated to lifelong learning.  To keep abreast of the newest techniques, we attend several seminars each year and our staff joins us.

Dr. Wakefield is one of fewer than 100 dentists in Minnesota to have a certificate from the University of Minnesota, having attended an extensive postdoctoral course in cosmetic and esthetic dentistry.

Preventative Visits

We believe in the importance of regular preventive dental health care.  Therefore, we encourage all of our patients to return for periodic re-examination visits.  Our office staff maintains a highly active and effective recall system to ensure a greater degree of oral health for you and your family.  Together we can determine the time interval between re-examination appointments to ensure optimal health.

Universal Precautions

To protect your health and prevent transmission of infectious disease we strictly adhere to the guidelines established by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the American Dental Association.  Some of these precautions are readily visible to you during a dental visit.  Other precautions, such as sterilization of instruments in an autoclave, are performed before your visit.  If you have questions about specific procedures and precautions, please feel free to discuss them with us.

Emergency Care

Emergency situations do arise and we will do everything in our power to respond to your problems as quickly as possible.  If you have an emergency, please call the office as early in the day as possible, as we reserve special times for those patients with emergency needs.

Telephone Calls

You are encouraged to call with questions you may have concerning dental problems, however, it would be unfair to other patients if the doctor were to disrupt treatment to answer every  phone call.  Our staff is trained to answer most questions.  If they are unable to address your concerns, the doctor will return your call at the earliest opportunity.

Insurance

As a courtesy to you we will process your insurance forms and aid you in receiving the maximum benefits to which you are entitled.  However, remember that the relationship is between you, the insured employee, and your insurance carrier.  If you have questions regarding payment from your insurance company, we recommend that you inquire of your insurance carrier.

All professional treatments are rendered and charged to the patient and not to the insurance company.  Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all, of the cost of your dental care.  Some companies pay a fixed allowance for certain procedures and others pay a percentage of a fee determined by the insurance company.  It is your responsibility to pay any deductible, co-insurance, or other balance not covered by insurance.  You are directly responsible to the clinic for your account.

Fees and Payments

We welcome and encourage frank discussion of payment arrangements prior to treatment.  We make every effort to keep the cost of your dental care as low as possible.  You can help by paying for treatment at the time of your visit.  If your treatment program requires several visits, you can be given an estimate and establish financial arrangements for monthly payments.  Remember, even if you have insurance coverage, you are still responsible for the payment of your account.  You may charge your dental investment on Visa or Mastercard, or finance your investment through Care Credit.

Appointments are scheduled from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.
