Dr. Ellen Jacobson
Dr. Jacobson grew up on family owned Pine Tree Apple Orchard in White Bear Lake, MN. She completed two bachelor’s degrees at Iowa State University before coming back to Minnesota for her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. She is a friendly and caring Doctor with experience in treating children and adults. Dr. Jacobson places special emphasis on the connections between oral health and overall health.
Dr. Jacobson feels it’s important to give back to her community through volunteering, both locally and abroad. She has participated in Give Kids A Smile, Mission of Mercy events in Minnesota & Iowa, the Union Gospel Mission, and public health initiatives in Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and Uganda.
Outside of dentistry Dr. Jacobson enjoys exploring the great outdoors. She is a frequent visitor to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area. Dr. Jacobson also enjoys gardening and doting on her pets (Dog-Jack 11 yr-old Lab/hound, Cats-Fritter and Lady Marmalade 5 yrs old).
Dr. Bennett Isabella
Bennett Isabella, DDS, attended Marquette University and was accepted after three years into the Marquette University School of Dentistry. After graduation, he moved back to Apple Valley, MN where he grew up, to start seeing patients in private practice. He always had an interest in dental surgery and pursued continuing education with the very top professionals in the field to learn IV sedation, dental implant placement, and other surgical techniques. Though Minnesota requires 25 hours of continuing education each year, Dr. Isabella has consistently done 75 to 100 hours or more to stay at the top of his profession. In 2013, he began lecturing other dentists both locally and nationally on the placement and restoration of dental implants. Dr. Isabella has been included in MN Monthly magazine’s “Top Dentist” list multiple times and is a member of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology, and Academy of General Dentistry.
While in dental school, Dr. Isabella finished his first Ironman Triathlon. Since then he has completed three more, has two National Championship titles, is a four-time triathlon All-American, and has represented Team USA for the International Triathlon Union World Championships. This is all done while keeping a happy wife Jessica and son Oliver, performing surgery at other dental practices, lecturing on a national level…and enjoying all of it!
Dr. Karl Petersen
Karl Petersen, DDS, had a unique path into dentistry. After graduating from the University of Minnesota with degrees in genetics and cell biology, he pursued molecular biological in a research setting for several years until he realized his passion for delivering patient care through dentistry. Dr. Petersen earned his dental degree from the University of Minnesota along with distinct honors for leadership, clinical excellence, and mentorship. In private practice, Dr. Petersen makes it a priority to stay at the forefront of dental innovation. He purses continuing education courses with leaders in the areas of orthodontics, sleep apnea, sedation, and implant dentistry. He is an active collaborator with several local dental and medical communities to determine how to most effectively screen and treat children and adults for sleep-disordered breathing. As an advocate for airway-centric dentistry, he sits on the of the Minnesota Dental Association’s Evidence-Based Dentistry Task Force; he is accredited with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology; he is a fellow of the Great Lakes Implant Institute, and an active member of the International College of Oral Implantology, the Academy of General Dentistry, Spear Study Club, and the Minnesota Myofunctional Orthodontics Study Group. To serve his local community, Dr. Petersen regularly volunteers at Hope Dental Clinic and Give Kids a Smile. Dedicated to increasing access to those in need, he has also contributed to several safety net clinics in, and around the Twin Cities.
In his spare time, Dr. Petersen enjoys cooking, kayaking, social dancing, and outdoor adventures. During the summer, you may often find Dr. Petersen kayaking along the St. Croix.
